ever wonder how people can just stand above you and hover and hover and hover and hover... yeah, me too....
today was just another day of observations, along with a wasted activity period. but i should say i researched a great deal into demons, finding out about the lesser keys of solomon and that the word "ba'al" is semitic equivalant to "yhwh"... also found astaroth, valefar, belial, paimon, etc... all of these demons form a new pantheon of gods for my world... especially since they seem to fill those roles that i have assigned them already... fun stuff...
i learned a few things form the students today:
i). freedom is tough: when given choices, the students will ask as many questions as possible because having the freedom to do what they want is really really scary to them apparently. they can't really make choices, not when they will be tested on it.
ii). for some strange reason my second to last period is dead... i think i need to check teh pulse of the some of the students to make sure that they are still breathing, etc. but my last period just won't shut up... that should be a fun experiment in patience on both ends of the spectrum.
iii). a student demands to placed where they want, not where they need... because who knows what they need, right? ... stupid helicopting parents...
take care until the next day.

day ii: what i can/'t say
so today was just another day of observations. my freshmen courses were involved in going over a worksheet for the nights previous reading. i on the other hand got to grade papers which was exciting... kinda... it was goals for the students and honestly, they were all the though the students had no idea what detail and specificity is..
the rest of the day was uneventful, so its almost really worthless...
that being said, i find myself wondering what i can and can not say on this blog, mainly because when i keep my mouth shut and ears open i get to hear a great deal of gossip... and that gossip i find hilarious, but still... can i talk about it... i know i can't mentions students by name, or even people by name... in truth, i just want to talk about things that i find funny.... which honestly boils down to most of the classes...
education is funny... and i hope to make sure students realize it too.

day 1: importance of spelling/a brief account of the day
august 24th, 2009
this was my first day at my high school. personally, with the creation of this blog, i'm unsure if i should include names of people and places, so for now, with a note at a later date, i'll add them in.
first off, let me say freshmen are really, really, short. i think i could have used them all as plp's, except two girls who were taller than me... probably weighed more than me too...
either way, all i did was observe today, which in itself was pretty boring. only funny story is this:
so a teacher was having their students write headlines as their name icebreaker, innocent enough...
one student decided to write #1 raper....
teacher was new and freaked out....
of course, kid meant he was the #1 rapper, but hey spelling isn't important right?
looking as if i was in that position i knew i would too...
thats about all that happened. i worked on lesson plans/reading my texts, so for now, take care.
